The Kinder Poison is officially my favorite book of 2020 so far. I cannot believe this is a debut novel! Everything in this book was perfection. Let me name the ways: the writing style, the incredible characters you actually get attached to, a strong female lead who isn't annoying, the unique magic system, the surprising plot twists, that ending! Just... wow! Can I have book 2 now please?!
Okay, yes, there is the typical YA romance that happens instantaneously (groan) and the "almost" love triangle (seriously, not again), but it didn't even bother me this time. There is just so much to love about this book and I find it unfair to compare it to others. There are so many books out there that just share the same story line as every other YA book, but this is not that book. Go grab a copy now!
