I first stated this book because of the cover. I love the combination of purple and gold. Then I read what it was about.
In this fantasy world there is a race called ''The Crossing'' and all the heirs participate in it but in order to ascend to the throne they need to make a human sacrifice. Zahru finds herself force to be the human sacrifice.
I loved how she portraits the world and the rules without missing a beat in the story. I was hocked in the very first pages. I loved how the characters where written and how many of the ''minor characters'' had background stories and relevance to the plot or had a plot around them.
I will definitely push this book to my friends. It was an amazing ride and I can't wait to have more of this story in my hands.
