To begin I am amazed that this is a true story, & that the daughter was to become her mother's confidant about her affair. Who does that? Who tells their daughter that she's been kissed by a family friend and she liked it and expected her daughter to help her deceive her husband. This idea sure brings up questions like, who is right and who is wrong? Does a daughter be a co-conspirator or does she tell her step father what has happened. That's a lot to throw at a 14 year-old girl, who is going through puberty herself and learning about her body and its urges. I am intrigued as well as horrified just in the first chapter. This is a got to read as I can't imagine this turning out well at all !
