I listened to this on audio and was riveted with the story! Finished it pretty quickly.
The author draws you in talking about her relationship with her mother and the part she played in her mother’s affair. This causes her a lot of stress and drama over the years as her mother turns to her for advice and help hiding the affair. It is shocking to read about what the mother expects of her and how she acts.
I found myself sucked in and couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. I can’t believe some of the things her mother does!
This author has gone through some bad things and made it out the other side to reflect on it. I’m glad she’s made peace with how things are.
