I liked it more than I thought I would

I wasn’t really sure about this book but I found myself completely obsessed with it! It’s a shorter book so it’s a fairly fast read. I was really invested in the characters and conflicted emotionally about who to root for. It was amazing on a psychological level everything Adrienne’s mother put her through. There were a lot of similarities between Adrienne and myself so that made the book both more interesting and harder to read at times. I forgot it was a memoir multiple times because it reads like a novel and some of it is hard to believe it would ever happen in real life. The book as a whole was entertaining as well as heartbreaking. I enjoyed the writing style and Adrienne makes even unlovable characters seem easy to root for.
