While there were a lot of great aspects about this book, I honestly feel torn about rating any book that buys into the conventional healthcare system. I liked that the table of contents included both traditional and natural means of treating anxiety. That being said, I think the medical industry misses a lot, and any book on topics such as anxiety should address that.

For instance, the author mentions IBS, which is a widely accepted diagnosis. However, many doctors who are experts in gastrointestinal medicine have stated that IBS is not an accurate diagnosis...it's really just a diagnosis doctor's give when they don't know what's causing the symptoms.

I did like that the author is an actual doctor, not just some random person giving advice about anxiety. I would have liked the book more if there had been a section that discussed ways that people are misdiagnosed with anxiety. So many people, usually women, have physical ailments that psychiatrists write off as anxiety, and I think it's important for people to know that anxiety could be a symptom of something bigger...something that can't be diagnosed by a psychiatrist.
