First of all, this book is LOOOOONG.... I'm not used to longer books (more than 400/500 pages) so this book seemed to be excessively long. The description of this book talks about "humor" interlaced within the drama of it, but I just really didn't see it. I felt like it was difficult for me to read and stick with. I think that it just wasn't a book that I connected easily to, and that made it hard for me to get through.

Although the characters seemed well developed (they should be, since the book was so long!) I felt like the plot meandered a little too much for my preference. I just really didn't love that part of it, and am more connected to books with a more linear plot line.

Again, this book may be fine for some, but I just didn't really connect with it, or enjoy it. It became a chore for me to stick with it, and I definitely didn't want to continue with it.

Thank you to Bookish First for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
