This book is beautiful. It is a wonderfully well-written love story. And a story about life and death and friendships and how we live our lives. And dogs! So very much about dogs.
I laughed almost as much as I cried. I'd never heard of the author before -- I watch politics on Sunday mornings -- but it obviously helps that she can really write. I guess it's good that journalists write books.
The writing is immediate and intimate and so very much right there.
I cried. A lot.
I'm grateful for having won an advanced copy of it and I recommend it oh-so-wholeheartedly.
I'll have what she's having.
