Thank you to Celadon for this ARC.

Get those tissues ready! This is why I normally don't read about animals and humans. They are sometimes sad in the end as this book was. It was a sweet book.

I absolutely adored this book about doggie friendship, human friendship and everything else that was written about Carol, Martha, their "new"friendship, Minnie and Harry's friendship and living in New York. Martha works for CBS news and is known also from CBS Sunday Morning news program.

Carol and Martha were introduced by Stephen who knew Martha from the Union Square Farmers Market where they happened to meet and showed Carol a picture of Minnie, Martha's bull terrier. Carol was dying of cancer and wanted someone to take Harry when she died. Martha at first was reluctant to take in Harry, with all his ailments, but Carol had this inkling about Martha and how she knew she would take good care of Harry when she was gone.

At first they had meet and greets to make sure Harry and Minnie would get along; then it became play dates, and then sleepovers. There were some funny moments like having doggy sleepovers with Harry and Minnie of course and the doggy cam to make sure they didn't "kill each other" and watched from another house which was hilarious when not one dog was in picture at first. Of course they thought the worst.

Martha and Carol became good friends also and like they both said, they wish they knew each other 20 years ago and not when Carol was sick.
