I'm not much of a dog person, but this is a very sweet memoir, and the author's love for her dogs and bull terriers in general is fairly contagious. Her eye for detail and the descriptions of New York City are wonderful, particularly now during the pandemic when visiting is out of the question. All in all a great first impression.
