For anyone who has ever had a special dog and lived through their life with them and had to let them go, this is one of those books you like to read because it will make you both happy and so sad. Add to it the issue of someone having to give up their dog because they themselves are dying just layers the pathos. That said, the selection provided is so fascinating and entertaining. The almost conversational tone makes for easy reading. I look forward to reading the rest of this book.
