Cory Anderson wrote an amazing debut novel. Right from the beginning, I was sucked into Jack's story and cheered for him throughout the entire book. The prose, descriptions, and intricacies of the world she created was perfect. It was harshly realistic and brutal, but that is what made it beautiful. I loved how certain things and occurrences weren’t outright stated, but rather the reader often had to infer what was going on. I also really liked the plot line - Jack and Ava uniting and coming together from broken pasts. The characters were all either lovable or completely horrible. The entire story just broke my heart in the best way. The ending was ambiguous and confusing, which was just the perfect ending to this story. The cover art for "What Beauty There Is" was also so striking and definitely was what initially pulled me in and made me want to read this book.
