While I was immediately intrigued by the cover, the contents of the book somewhat threw me off. While vivid and atmospheric, the beginning of the story failed to really grab my attention. However, that is largely likely due to personal taste. If you're a fan of emotional, heart-breaking coming of age stories, this book will probably be right up your alley. However, it wasn't for me and definitely needs a trigger warning.
