That was a very moving, tragic, and intense First Impression. I am extremely invested in Jack's well-being, considering he witnessed the most traumatizing scene at home, he has to keep everything hidden from his younger brother, and the stress continues at school from lack of friends and rumors about his dad. The entire time I was reading, I was tensed up and worried. I really want to read more because the blurb mentions Jack looking for his dad's money and I sense there will be more tension, suspense, mystery, and action to come.
Also I like the cover of the book and the art matches the header above each new chapter. I see a lot of animals and trees in the art, and a knife which I wonder if it'll be a big part of the book.
