This book grabs the reader from the start! Two brothers - both living in poverty with their mom; Jack gets home from school first, only to discover their mom has committed suicide. To protect his younger brother, Matty, Jack lies and tells him their mom has gone away on a trip and he's not sure when she will be back. He then secretly buries her in the backyard!! This book has me asking so many questions already. I wasn't ready for my excerpt to end!
