Objectively I think this book has a solid start - but definitely a bit dark. It's clear that this is novel will have some very heavy subject matter although it is YA. Not my cup of tea personally, I don't read a ton of YA, but I do think it was really well paced. I think it would be a read that would be hard to put down for those that enjoy this genre.
