Wow, this started off dark. I wasn't expecting any of it when I started reading. I like the beginnings of the chapters from Ava's point of view. They are lyrical and mystical. Jack's background and situation are so dire and deeply traumatic. I'm interested in how these characters connect and where they go from here.
