Everything about this book is beautiful, from the cover, the writing, and the art for each chapter.
I knew as soon as I read the description that this was a book I wanted to pick up. The writing for the description alone is written in gorgeous diction, which is only half the attraction for me. I was immediately drawn in by the concept. It’s not something I’ve ever seen in young adult before and I was immediately captivated by every word of the description.
After reading the first few chapters I’m already so drawn in. There is an immediate connection with Jack, and the reader feels for him. He is already made so human just within the first chapters. The reader gets to see so many aspects of his life and how much he is really going through. And it’s so nice to get a young adult book with a male POV given that so many are from a female’s perspective.
