I’m not normally a true crime reader, but I won a copy of this one from BookishFirst and Kensington books so I just had to read the entire book to see WHAT happened. I read the first impression thinking it was a fiction title, it’s so wild, so I was blown away when I realized this was based on a real life story!
M. William Phelps writes it in such a realistic way, I was immediately immersed in what happened, and who each of these characters were. What they were hiding, who could have been the one to poison Mary Yoder, and how insane to imagine that so many of the people around her were not only suspects but had evidence against them, or motives for killing her. Such a sad, crazy story if you love reading unexpected twists and turns, this one is certain to grab your attention and surprise you if this is your kinda book!
It has definitely inspired me to check out more true crime in the future!
