The book starts by introducing all the family members and key scene-setting players. You’re meant to think everything is completely normal with the family except a son who is shut off from his parents and then the wife becomes suddenly ill. The concept was interesting but the writing was a bit dull for me. It might get better when things take a turn for the wife, but it was just really slow to read.
