I Love True Crime, but Not This Writing

I am a huge fan of true crime. I've exhausted all the true crime shows and documentaries on Netflix and Hulu. My sister and I spent hours watching Investigation Discovery when we were younger. Occasionally I'll pick up a true crime book as well. So this story immediately sucked me in and I want to read about all the twists and turns that are sure to unfold.

However, I'm not super impressed with the author's writing style. It felt choppy and repetitive. I think if the text had been edited down to reduce repetition of certain facts (i.e., the planning of a Europe trip, the MULTIPLE mentions of how the son and his girlfriend had a rocky relationship), it would have been more enjoyable. I understand that a lot of this info was repeated for important reasons, but it felt like overkill.
