This book was such an important book. It talks about a girl whose sister’s rapist went free and the repercussions it cost and how she and her sister (but mostly her) were dealing with it. It made me cry, laugh, and become so angry at times (rape culture is an issue I’m interested in), and I feel like this book gave me a whole new perspective I hadn’t considered before. All the other books I’ve read about rapists they’ve usually gone free, but not here, and I thought it was so realistic and so sad and so heartbreaking.

The book was written in poetry and normally and I thought that was a unique take by the author. I’m a huge fan of poetry and I really enjoyed that. I left so many markings and I honestly thought the poems were written very well. I definitely will be reading more from this author in the future and I can’t wait for them to tackle other issues.
