The opening poem totally sets the tone for the impression and I am here for it. It's a powerful beginning followed by chapters that are gut punchingly real and difficult. As a woman of color, I can relate and empathize to Marianne and how her parents are feeling; the anticipation, the fear, and the hope justice will prevail. Just reading this small portion of the book has caused my heart to tighten in my chest.

I love the cover and am looking forward to reading more.
