This subject is important and needs to be addressed in stories, but the delivery is so intense some readers may feel a disconnect from the story. It was so deep it hurt reading it. Seeing a character in so much pain was gut wrenching and broke my heart. I really wish this story wasn't our reality, but sadly it is.
