Strong with it's message it can feel like heavy handed. I could go on a rant on how these recent books heavy handedness is causing bad writing and the subject to not be handled well. Immediately, the main character had an issue with the guys doing something -normal high school behavior. I only admittedly read the prologue because I do not like heavy handed writing. I do think it is an important subject and it does need to be addressed early on in writing for young adults but the way it is being done lacks nuance.
