If there’s anything I want more of in 2021, it is hope and justice. This story is so heartbreaking, particularly in the familiarity of the story in real world headlines, but Em’s drive for revenge and her desire for hope is like a light at the end of the tunnel that prevents the book from feeling too heavy or too close to life. Readers should be forewarned of the triggering subject matter, though. This may not be the right book at the right time for some readers
