This book definitely drew me in, from the gorgeous cover to the catchy title. I wanted to LOVE this book, but instead only like it. Em is a middle school student, whose sister was raped. Impassioned for justice, Em becomes her sisters biggest supporter.
This book seems great, and the novel in verse idea makes me want to read it more, I just have so much trouble with this intense content being a YA or middle grades book. While the world IS a scary place sometimes, I don’t think it needs to be “in my child’s face” at every turn (or every book).
