Reading this, I felt every emotion that Em was feeling, everything I am sure the writer meant for me, the reader to feel. It was so agonizing to read this trial go the way it did, the way these first few chapters go. The only thing I didn't like about this was the subtle idolization of Hilary Clinton (she isn't that good a person, and not a single politician should be idolized).
I also really liked that the author put in a nonbinary character (and actually stuck with the correct pronouns) without making it a big deal and stuff.
