I love a good hard-hitting YA contemporary, and "We are the Ashes, We are the Fire" definitely fits the bill. The synopsis pulled me in - I love a strong, motivated female heroine. But the author's writing really hooked me. It's beautiful prose. The incorporation of a true historical figure is also really intriguing. The cover is also very striking. Excited to read more!
