The story is so tragic but also so very real for many men, women, and children all over the world. I think this book's timing is especially poignant following the Brock Turner case....maybe it was inspired by that, I don't know. Either way, the way the author pays so much homage and respect to the victim and presents what the victim's family goes through with a trial and media and all of the other associated BS that is the criminal justice system is beautiful and heartbreaking. I can't help but hope for healing and some "happy ending" for all of the characters of this book.
