I found the use of medieval imagery in the story to be an interesting take but, given the main character's literary bent, it makes sense. The sense of anger and pain is there from the very beginning and quickly deepens as we learn of her sister's case and the outcome. I wonder how real the sword will become before the story is over. I thought this was a very engaging book from the opening poem.
