I think the cover is pretty good, it matches the same types that I’ve seen within this genre. The same goes for the title of the book which is reminiscent of some of the YA titles I’ve seen.
Moving to the content provided in this excerpt, I was surprised really! I sometimes go into this genre anticipating something that doesn’t really interest me. That’s my admission, and yet, I think this opening was really strong! It reminds me of writing classes that teach to grab the reader at the start and they’ll trust that the rest is worth reading. I kept going and really enjoyed the realistic dialogue and story building. I think that this book, while not in my typical go-to genre, is pretty interesting, well-written so far, and definitely worth the time and effort to read the rest.
