This is the first book I’ve read a First Look of that I’ve already heard of the author. I loved If I Stay, so I was already excited to read this book before I even started.
I love the fact that it feels like a book about books, I find it amusing, and I like reading other people’s thoughts on the same words I’ve read myself.
It’s heartbreaking to see how small businesses can struggle against big chains. I love how this book picks up on all these little things.
I’m curious to find out what happened to the family. When I first started reading, I thought the mom and brother died, but then towards the end of the first look I found out the mom was alive, so I’m wondering what happened there.
I couldn’t stop reading and I kept scrolling, expecting to find more when I reached the end. I’m hooked!
I like the cover. I thought it would be more realistic like If I Stay, but I think the illustration drawn is a good fit as well.
