Thanks to a history with Gayle Forman's books, despite the fact that this excerpt really just makes me feel sad, I want to read more and expect that the end result of this book is going to be fantastic. The main character is starting from such a point of hopelessness and far too much adulthood being placed on him, but I have faith that in this author's hands it will turn out well.
