I'm not sure how I feel about this. I get that we were left on the edge of something that was about to change, but the book just feels very sad so far. With, like, no optimism hints anywhere to be found. I'm interested to see where this goes, but I hope that things turn around or at least start moving. The sample makes it seem as though the characters have been stagnant for a while.
