"Ira’s voice is heavy with mourning, as if the books were living, breathing things. Which to him they are." I love this connection of earth and book and how Ira lives for the words that are falling off the tattered shelves of Bluebird Books. I have read multiple books by Gayle Foreman and always appreciate the emotion she puts into her stories.

The characters come to life from the moment you meet them in the first chapter. The narrator, Aaron, recounts his experience as an early reluctant reader who fell in love with stories from the moment he read The Chronicles of Narnia. He is now transfixed on dinosaurs and their connection to the direction that his disappointing life has taken.

The literary references throughout the first few chapters made me squeal and eager to read more. I look forward to getting to know Aaron and others in this funny and charming story.
