TW: a Black character is wrongly accused of a crime by a white female character, a monster character is continually misgendered (seemingly not purposefully) and doesn't correct this

This was really weird in all the best ways. This gave tons of queer fairytale vibes, which I expected after What Big Teeth. With alternating POVs, but not hard to follow, even as someone who usually mixes up POVs over and over again at the beginning of a book - each had a very distinct voice and plot line. I see the issues that some people had with it, but I thought the plot, queer characters and weird in a good way vibes were enough to be interested in where this series is going - I can’t wait to get to the next one. Perfect for fans of The Hazel Wood, if you just wished it was a little bit weirder and queerer.
