Rose Szabo wrote a YA novel called What Big Teeth that I saw a lot awhile ago. This is Rose's new book We all Fall Down. This book seemed super promising. It has a stunning cover, is shelved under YA, Sapphic paranormal urban fantasy. All things I love. First off, this should be a new adult book, not a young adult. There's so many TWs, body horror, graphic gore, murder, violence, gun violence, suicidal thoughts, murder and more. I was really excited for the representation in this book, but it wasn't done correctly. After reading reviews from black mutuals I was less excited. What happens is a white character falsely accuses a black character of a crime and they spend a traumatic time in jail for it. Literally nothing happens to the white character for doing that and it was just harmful and triggering. The genders of everyone was also really confusing in this book.
