I really wanted to like this book. I love books with representation of the LGBTQ community and this book was flush with it. The characters were vivacious and detailed. But I just couldn’t get through it. I don’t know if it was the writing style or the story itself but it just didn’t hold my interest for very long so I quit trying to force myself to read it. I wouldn’t let this discourage anyone from trying it out but from other reviews there are numerous viewpoints in this book that are problematic. I would read those before delving into this book too deeply because had I know about these before buying the book I don’t think I would have supported the author. If you are a bipoc reader then this book definitely is not for you. The author does no favors for the bipoc community at all in their representation of the characters in this book. It just misses the mark.
