The description of the book made it seem like a fantasy with an ensemble cast, which I adore. The first pages, however, made it seem possibly more dystopian. Astrid, the main character in the prologue, carries a pager around. The king and queen's names are Nathan and Marla, respectively, which are not a very fantasy-like names. I'm intrigued enough to read more, but it definitely through me off for a moment.
