I loved Rose Szabo's What Big Teeth, so I was really looking forward to the first installment of this duology. We All Fall Down focuses on an old city once lead by Astrid, a powerful witch. After she rescues the baby of a fallen king, we meet Jesse, a potentially transgendered teenager on her way to the city. From Szabo's enchanting beginning, it is clear that danger lurks beneath the circus and that we can likely expect a reunification of all of these characters as their histories are uncovered.
The writing style of We All Fall Down is gripping and illustrative, much like Szabo's other work. The reader becomes immediately attached to each character. Overall, I can't wait to read more!
