This premise doesn’t interest me and I don’t like the cover, but I thought the prologue was good—the writing kept me into the story and I was curious about what the heck was going on with the king and his wife, who seemed to be liked but now broken and overthrown. Unfortunately, the first chapter was so unlike the prologue that I lost interest and stopped reading. I’m sure YA fantasy readers will like it, but I’m not that person.
