So, it turns out that this is actually part of a series, and though I read this book without ever reading any of the previous books, I had no trouble following the story and understanding the plot. All of the characters are written so incredibly well, but I think I fell in love with Hester the most and admire all of her dedication to solving the mystery she has been presented with. Anyone who enjoys a quick mystery read will thoroughly enjoy this novel, with all of the many plot twists and incredible character development that comes with it. I personally found this book quite difficult to put down once I started because every time I was ready to put it down, it seemed to present another element that made me want to read even more. The characters are so lovable and as the story progresses, you become so invested in the mystery, so even readers newer to mystery novels will love this story!
