This book was really great, but it is my first my Edwin Hill and I have not read the two books before this one in the series so I am a little out of touch knowing the characters well. I love strong female leads so Hester Thursby is an interesting quirky character that really fits the mystery well. Hester being a librarian really gives to that quirky detective feel kind of in an Aurora Teagarden way ( if you have ever watched Hallmark movies & mysteries) and I love that detective aspect without being an official detective. The story goes into a 30 year old "accidental death" that may be found to not be so accidental... who would've thought?!Angela White the actual detective and professional sleuth is quite a pairing with Hester Thursby, they make a great dynamic duo!! Then you have the rich powerful family hiding secrets... que the drama and intrigue to really take this mysterious thriller up a few notches!! I am wanting to read the first two books just to start at the beginning and then dive into this one again! Thank you for the copy and contest.
