When I won this book I had no idea it was the third book in a series. Not going to lie, that fact made me a little frustrated that that wasn't listed anywhere in the about the book section. I found the author's email address and asked him about reading this book before the first two (because I wanted to finish and review before publishing) and I'll be honest I didn't really expect a response. To my surprise he responded the same day (you're amazing) saying I could read it but that he is partial to reading series in order. So I took his recommendation and read the first two, which is why this review is so much later than I would have liked. I'm so glad I did though. Although the story would have made sense as a stand alone, it was definitely enhanced by reading the first two and getting to know the main characters pasts and personalities better first. This book was a really fast paced, thriller, crime novel that I sped through in less than a week. I love the characters, the story, overall a great book.
