Loved it! I was about 1/3 of the way through this book before I even knew it was part of a series, so just know that you don't HAVE to read the rest of the Hester Thursby books to enjoy this one. HOWEVER, I'm sure it would help keep the large cast of supporting characters straight and offer an extra layer of understanding. I 100% plan on going back and reading the other books in the series now.
Hester is an unusual, uniquely enjoyable heroine. It's not every day you meet an Ivy League librarian/PI and I loved every minute of her. The book is written with quickly changing POV, with short chapters and a lot of jumping around. I've seen some reviews say that this pulled them out of the story, but it actually kept me reading. The short chapters make it so much easier to "one more chapter" my way through 100 pages before I even realize it.
In other words - read this book and enjoy it!
