Thank you to Bookishfirst, the author and Kensington for this ARC.

This is my first book by Edwin Hill and it was a good one to start with even though it's #3 in a series with the character, librarian Hester Thursby.

The book had so many characters that it took me about 100 pages to get me acclimated with them and all the names.

It was sort of a murder mystery and had a lot going on with the Matson family, who owned the Prescott school, where Maxine was a close friend and head of the Prescott School (at age 25 too), Hester who was sort of friends with Maxine in a way I have to figure out (maybe it was in the other two books or else I just couldn't figure it out, and Angela, a Sergeant with the police force, who was a partner of Stan, who is Maxine's brother. What a tangled web.

I liked the way it all panned out in the end but there were lies and deception and what the truth was and what people wanted to believe.
