This is a complex psychological thriller focusing on a couple of different sub-plots. Hester Thursby and fellow detective Angela White are on the case of at first a break in, and then a missing person case. The two instances end up intertwining and the reader does need some focus with this story. The characters are interesting and I did enjoy getting to know the quirks of the two detectives and how they interacted with each other and other characters. The book builds momentum as it goes and the best part of the book was the ending where there is a plot twist and things come together for the most part. I would strongly recommend this to those who enjoy this genre. It is not my usual choice of book and was a bit complex and intricate for my taste as a reader. I also learned there are other books featuring Hester Thursby but this can be read without having read those first.
