After reading the description of the book and then reading the first few chapters, I'm really interested to see where this goes. I like the look into the past, and I hope it's significant to what might happen later. The only thing that kind of turned me off was the very first conversation between Hester and her niece. While I completely agree with the viewpoint being a woman myself, it felt like bait to get people to read and just all around unnecessary. I hope that doesn't continue throughout the book.
