This book starts off right away with a flashback. Maxine is moving into a new place and her brother doesn't feel good about it. He notices all of the things that are wrong and dangerous. While things aren't perfect, Maxine is happy to have her space. Then the story fast-forwards to twenty-four years later. the vividness of this book is great. I can see everything play out in my mind just like a movie. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
